Cork flooring
Cork is an all natural product derived from the bark of the cork
tree. And in these days of increasing concern for the environment,
cork remains the only tree whose bark can regenerate itself after
harvest leaving the tree unharmed. Cork trees are a variety of oak
tree that regrow their bark every 9 years, resulting in an all natural,
environmentally responsible product with exceptional physical properties.
One cubic inch of cork consists of not less than 200 million completely
enclosed air cells, each meassuring 1/1000" in diameter. Each
minute cell is 14 sided to avoid empty spaces between cells. These
physical propereties provide cork with the following beneficial properties:
> Resistence to moisture and liquid penetration.
> Low thermal conductivity.
> Ability to absorb vibration.
> High resiliency.
